Pre Race Brief

Dear Competitor,

Welcome to Waterside 10km Race Brief. Please take the time to read and understand the following Pre race Brief. I know you have probably read hundreds of these, but it is important that you understand our requirements and that which are required by our governing bodies.

RACE STARTS TIMES

*Waterside 10km 10:00am Start*

The weather seems as though it could a wet start but drying out with light winds but as with all British weather this is subject to change….

Age: Minimum age of competitors is 15 on the day of the race.

PARKING

Open from 08:00am In the Marlow car park. Please follow signs and marshal instructions. Parking is limited please try to travel together where possible.

Sorry but there is a parking charge of £3.50 at this venue. This is out of our hands. Please come with your change fo the car parking machine.

REGISTRATION

Open from 08:00am In the visitors centre, follow the signs from the car park, here you will collect your running numbers that will already have your timing chip attached, please do not bend your race number as this may damage the chip, remember to please wear your race number on your front, NO RACE NUMBER = NO TIME

Please Note: NOTHING WILL BE POSTED TO YOU; registration is on the day only. Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to register and prepare yourselves (the race will start at 10:00am with or without you).

COURSE

Follows an undulating but fast all road route, which passes through Grafham village on to Ellington village where you will turn and come back the same way, on reaching the finish area you will pass by and out along the dam wall until the turn point is reached, from there you have 800m or so until you finish. Please note that this is NOT a traffic free route and you must run on the left at all times. Anyone seen crossing the white lines will be disqualified, there are officials on bikes checking for this, you have been warned!

If you carry and use gels or other types of nutrition while running. Please discard the wrappers with a marshal or carry them to the end, if you can carry it full, I am sure you can carry it empty.  Sorry again, but anyone caught discarding litter will be disqualified and their results removed. (lets keep our countryside clean)

FIRST AID

Nicetri and Medical services Ltd will be providing first aid cover for the event. If you are injured or witness a fellow competitor getting injured please alert the nearest marshal who will call for assistance, there are marshals out on the course whom are first aid trained. If another athlete becomes seriously ill please do you best to help. (Please ensure you complete your  medical & contact information on the back of your race number. On the back on the number is a contact number for the race director. Should an emergency arise ring this number, we will them  liaise with medical teams on course to come to your location ).

  • First Female Vet 35,45,55,65+
  • 1st Male & Female Team Prize (First 3 to score)
  • One prize only per person (Excluding Team Prize)

PRESENTATION

When the last runner has finished or 11:30am where registration took place. If you want your prize please stay or arrange for some to collect in your absence.

FINISH

At the finish you will find refreshments and a results tent for you instant print outs.

Finish Photos will be available for free to download from our facebook page, Click HERE. All we ask is that you like our page and share as much as you like. please leave us reviews as it helps us improve the events we bring to you.

RESULTS
All race results will be live to the internet as you cross the finish line so spectators/family can see your results instantly on their mobile devices. They can be found HERE

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Toilet facilities: Only available at the registration / finish area, please ensure you use them prior to going to the start area. There are no changing or showering facilities, please come prepared or change in your car.

We are not providing baggage storage at this event. The car park is right next to the registration and start, please store you baggage in your cars. We will however look after your keys for you, if required. Collect your tag at registration.

As with any open road race event, headphones are not permitted. Anyone caught using headphones will be disqualified.

Available at registration and after the race.

Race briefings

Race Briefing will take place five minutes before the start. A pre race brief will be sent out 1 week prior to the event.

Arrival and Registration

Parking will be at the venue Mander car park 
PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event. Nothing will be posted prior to the event.
If for any reason you don’t receive this email, full race information will be available at least two days prior to the event, HERE
Registration will be open from  08:00 – 09:45 am on race day. Please ensure you arrive early to avoid that last minute rush.

Identification

You will be issued with a race number which must be clearly visible either on your front  at all times.  Number belts are allowed, all we ask it that we can see your number at the timing points as a backup to the electronic system.

Safety

If circumstances deem the course or travel conditions to be unsafe or it falls outside of the ARC/UKA guidelines, Nicetri have the right to change/move, or cancel the event at short notice.

Chip Timing

Chip Timing Solutions will provide computerised chip timing via an electronic chip system that will be attached to your race number. Please do not bend the numbers as this may damage the timing chip.  Make sure your run over the mats at the various timing points. Your finish time and splits will be available shortly after completing the event. (including Guntime & Chip time)
